As I approach the end of the ServiceNow Administration Fundamentals program and being to prepare for the Developer portion of the RiseUp ServiceNow cohort, I can see how the individual modules have built on one another.
The earlier modules introduced the ServiceNow platform, navigation, users, data structures, security, and the CMDB.
Modules 5 and 6 expanded into Self-Service, Knowledge Management, Service Catalogs, Workflow Studio, dashboards, visualizations, and notifications.
Modules 7 and 8 introduced customization, scripting concepts, Update Sets, migration, development practices, and security.
The Capstone allowed me to bring many of those concepts together into one complete solution.
Now my focus shifts toward reviewing the material, strengthening the areas where I need additional practice, and preparing for the ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) exam.
Completing the Capstone gave me a much better appreciation for what a ServiceNow administrator actually does.
It isn't simply about creating fields, configuring forms, or building workflows.
It is about understanding a business requirement, determining which ServiceNow capabilities can address it, configuring those capabilities correctly, testing the solution, troubleshooting issues, and making sure the final experience works for the people who will use it.
The Strawberry sFone project allowed me to practice that process from beginning to end.
I'm proud of the progress I've made throughout the program, and I'm looking forward to taking what I've learned into the next stage of my ServiceNow journey.
The Capstone may mark the end of the training labs, but for me, it feels more like the beginning of putting these skills into practice.
